you tube
i know youtube pretty welll - I've spent hours searching my favorite long lost songs - I never made a comment before though...
You Tube is fabulous I've checked out shcool tube and teacher tube. i haven't found a practical use for it yet - it really hard to find a 3rd grade appropriate clip about 'inciting incident'.

Masha rooooo!
Yep, only on Thing 8.....
So the spell with flickr was kind of confusing at first - It looked like I went to the wrong site at first. all of the 'adds by google' were listed horizontally like menus, for the longest time, I didn't realize they were all adds. Once I realized I just needed to type a word in the box, the only way I saw to save it was to highlight copy and paste....
am I missing anything?
The color mashup was way cool I might be using that for a project.
Did NOT like picture sudoku - and I LOVE that game. the pictures were always too similar.
ttfn I haven't finished thing 8 but I figured I'd write thus far before I forget!

More flicker fun
I just uploaded some great pictures of my dog!
I already see how I can use this in my class room - in using the groups - there is a group for macro photography - I can show some real world examples of how a frame can limit your view.
I haven't searched yet, but I'm sure there is a group that exemplify rule of thirds, the power of color, contrast etc...
love it love it!

Flicker is fun
I'm actually excited about getting into flicker!
I chose books as my tag because, well, actually, yesterday I tried beaches and all of the photos seemed to be copy-righted or something wasn't working when I tried to downlaod - maybe it was me...
So today I tried a different tag - books. I chose this picture because books represent stories, just like each person's life represent a story (oh boy now I'm getting really deep!)
Many books = many stories.

Thing 5
No creative title this time.... I had a few problems... the Weblogg site didn't have the buttons that we were suppose to look for and the technorati was especially confusing. I saw all of these sites but I didn't know what I had to click on to get to the blogs for those sites.
I'm not ready to use my bloglines everyday but I'm glad to know about it. Awareness is the first step in learning!
ttfn - I've got a bit of catching up to do!

Blog Overload
RSS seems very useful. But boy am I overwhelmed! For thing 3, I link with Oakland Schools blog, I tried to add it to my RSS and I really didn't know which page I should add to -
There was an opening page that listed different blogs, there was a database/widgets page where I found the RSS button, and there are the blog pages themselves.
I did figure out the easy way to link bloglines to my RSS. I put "Sub with Bloglines" in my bookmarks and click on it when I want to add it to my RSS.
In the end, It's just like everything else that is new - it takes time to navigate and figure out, but once you have the hang of it, it's not too bad...
